La Porte's common council annexed about 1,000-1,300 acres of Pleasant Township farmland south of Boyd Boulevard between CR-250S and State Road 2 in April 2026 and approved industrial rezoning in May 2026 for a second Microsoft campus of 11 more data center buildings and two substations.
