Adams Fork Data Center Energy Campus - Wharncliffe site (TransGas)
Wharncliffe, Mingo County, WV
TransGas Development Systems plans Adams Fork Data Center Energy Campus – Wharncliffe site (TransGas), a data center in Wharncliffe, WV. The project is sized at 2,400 MW. TransGas proposes two separate off-grid data center/power campuses: this one at the former Twisted Gun golf course in Wharncliffe (Mingo County) and the Harless Industrial Park site near Holden (Logan County) already in the database as 'Adams Fork Harless'. Each would be powered by its own ~2,400 MW gas-engine plant (117 engines), with company plans showing eventual 9.8 GW combined and an ammonia plant. WV DEP approved air permits for both plants in 2025; Mingo residents filed a federal lawsuit in Dec 2025 and crashed a private meeting in Feb 2026. Flagged for dedupe review: the existing 'Adams Fork Harless' row may already be intended to cover both sites. (Source dated 2026-02-20.).
