Patmos Data Center
Fairfield, Jefferson County, AL
A new data center, Patmos Data Center, has been announced in Fairfield, AL. Missouri-based colocation data center developer Patmos was named by Fairfield Mayor Herman Carnes Jr. as the company behind a proposed facility in the 35064 zip code; the city subsequently passed a data center moratorium, but this proposal was grandfathered in ahead of it. Patmos operates at least five other facilities across Missouri, Texas, and Arizona, including a Kansas City, MO site that itself hosts Nebius Inc. as a tenant (Nebius is separately building its own facility in Birmingham AL Oxmoor Valley) – this Fairfield project appears to be the same Patmos company at a distinct AL site, not a naming coincidence. A community town hall (reframed by the mayor as a "digital infrastructure and advanced technology" meeting) was rescheduled to Aug 12, 2026; exact site address and capacity not yet disclosed.
