Jackson Lake Hico site data center (developer inquiry)
Jackson, Hinds County, MS
Jackson Lake Hico site data center (developer inquiry) is an announced data center project in Jackson, MS. Rumored / unconfirmed: After a Hinds County judge questioned city officials about Lake Hico data center discussions, Jackson Mayor John Horhn said in July 2026 that a developer is considering the Lake Hico site as one option but that talks are 'very premature' and no project is in the works. Jackson enacted a 183-day data center moratorium on July 14, 2026 and in August directed staff to identify suitable sites; this is distinct from Saxum's Forest Avenue proposal.
