Calvert Infrastructure Hub
Calvert, Washington County, AL
Beacon Data Centers, a private operator, has announced Calvert Infrastructure Hub, a data center project in Calvert, AL. Beacon Data Centers has proposed a $6 billion, two-building data center campus on a 650-acre site between Highway 43 and Shepard House Road in Calvert, northern Mobile County; roughly 95 acres would actually be developed, with the first building targeted for completion in 2027. The project is projected to bring up to 1,000 construction jobs and about 250 permanent jobs averaging $115,000. About 50 residents pushed local officials for written accountability guarantees at a July 2026 meeting, and county commissioners have said they lack authority to halt the project.
