Applied Digital Brookwood Data Center (APLD BHM-01)

Brookwood, Tuscaloosa County, AL

Applied Digital Brookwood Data Center (APLD BHM-01) is a planned data center in Brookwood, AL, with Applied Digital Corporation named as the developer. Dallas-based Applied Digital (via subsidiary APLD BHM-01 LLC) purchased ~1,300 acres along Brookwood Parkway (east of Brookwood Middle School, west of Lear Corp Tuscaloosa Plant) for $21.5M in June 2026. ADEM construction stormwater permit (ALR10C8B4) approved effective July 20, 2026 for a ~2 million sq ft hyperscale data center (permit filed as "Brookwood, AL Industrial"), ~137 acres initial land disturbance. Applied Digital has not publicly announced the project and says no decision has been made to proceed at this site; mayor signed NDA with Tuscaloosa County EDA. Residents raised environmental (Hurricane Creek, a federally protected waterway) and transparency concerns starting Aug 2026. One of three distinct data center proposals along the same Brookwood corridor (see also Project Brookwood LLC/Youngwoo & Associates); a third (Provident Data Centers, ~527 acres) is unconfirmed land-records speculation only, not inserted.
