Wilderness Crossing (Amazon)
Orange County, Spotsylvania County, VA
Wilderness Crossing (Amazon) is a planned data center in Orange County, VA, with Amazon named as the developer. Amazon-backed mixed-use rezoning of 2,600+ acres at the gateway to the Wilderness Battlefield, approved by the Orange County Board of Supervisors in April 2023, with up to 732 acres allocated to data centers and distribution warehouses (alongside up to 5,000 homes) over a 30-year, four-phase buildout. Still contested: the American Battlefield Trust and Piedmont Environmental Council have ongoing litigation over the approval process, with a judge allowing a challenge to proceed in September 2025.
