Tomcat Development Mesquite Lake Data Center (Moiola)

Tomcat Development Mesquite Lake Data Center (Moiola) is a planned data center in Imperial County, CA, with Tomcat Development (John and Tom Moiola) named as the developer. Tomcat Development, run by the Moiola family of Moiola Brothers Cattle Feeders, filed to build a data center on industrial land in the Mesquite Lake Specific Plan area near Brawley, asserting it is a permitted use needing no CEQA review. Imperial County adopted a data center moratorium in June 2026 (extended to 2027, with a carve-out debate over this project) that a Superior Court later set aside in August 2026.
