Swarm Systems Marshalltown Data Center (Edgewood Industrial Park)
Marshalltown, Marshall County, IA
Work on Swarm Systems Marshalltown Data Center (Edgewood Industrial Park) in Marshalltown, IA has stalled. Swarm Systems (CEO Amir Atefi) proposed buying 21 acres in Marshalltown's Edgewood Industrial Park for a 150,000 sq ft data center. The City Council enacted a 120-day data center moratorium in August 2026 (through at least Nov 23, 2026) while P&Z drafts a zoning/noise/water ordinance package; an Oct 1, 2026 open house is scheduled. Land purchase remains under negotiation. (Source dated 2026-09-02.).
