Sovereign Gazelle Somerville bitcoin mining data center
Somerville, Morgan County, AL
Sovereign Gazelle Somerville bitcoin mining data center, a data center project in Somerville, AL associated with Sovereign Gazelle LLC (Sovereign Global Solutions / VoltCore), has stalled. The facility is reported at 50 MW. Texas-based Sovereign Gazelle (Kevin Mohan) bought 15 acres at 369 Union Road in 2025 for a 50 MW bitcoin-mining data center. Four homeowners refused power-line easements; Somerville town council paused the project in July 2026 and Morgan County adopted a data center moratorium in late June 2026. County says it otherwise cannot stop the unzoned project. (Source dated 2026-06-20.).
