Rock Point data center
West Plains, Spokane County, WA
Apricus Energy Partners, a private operator, has announced Rock Point data center, a data center project in West Plains, WA. Reported capacity is 1,000 MW. Proposed 514-acre data center paired with a hydrogen production facility (electrolysis and methane pyrolysis) at 11703 W. Medical Lake Highway on the West Plains near Spokane. Apricus, a small Arizona-founded firm (fewer than 11 employees, no completed projects), is targeting up to 1,000MW, but Avista projects only 50MW available by 2030 and 650MW by 2033 absent about 184 million dollars in transmission upgrades. Faced significant community opposition at a July 30, 2026 planning commission meeting over water and PFAS concerns; no formal county approval yet.
