Raeden Gibraltar data center (McLouth Steel site)

Gibraltar, Wayne County, MI

Raeden Gibraltar data center (McLouth Steel site), a data center project in Gibraltar, MI, has stalled. The facility is reported at 100 MW. Raeden proposed a 100MW inference data center reusing existing buildings at the former McLouth Steel site, 27800 W. Jefferson Ave., Gibraltar, Wayne County, with a substation planned on the adjacent Superfund parcel at 28000 W. Jefferson. Application submitted mid-Feb 2026; Gibraltar City Council passed a one-year data center moratorium March 9, 2026 that activists say targeted this application; Raeden sued the city in federal court in August 2026 over the moratorium. Distinct from the already-tracked, already-operating 'Raeden Michigan 1' facility in Detroit -- same operator, different site.
