Project Tallmadge
Strasburg, Shenandoah County, VA
Takanock, LLC, a private operator, has announced Project Tallmadge, a data center project in Strasburg, VA. 87-acre proposed data center campus in the Strasburg Industrial Park near I-81 Exit 296 and the Mercury Paper facility (Shenandoah County). Two two-story buildings totaling ~2M sq ft; developer plans 400MW of on-site natural-gas generation (closed-loop cooling). Land is zoned industrial, which the town says makes the use by-right; secondary trackers cite ~180MW IT capacity, but DataCenterDynamics' own reporting states the developer did not disclose capacity. Permitting targeted for completion Q3 2027. Community opposition organized as 'Protect Shenandoah – No Data Centers.'.
