PointOne / CyrusOne Lee County Data Center Campus
Sanford, Lee County, NC
PointOne / Helix Ventures (developers); CyrusOne (end owner/operator) plans PointOne / CyrusOne Lee County Data Center Campus, a data center in Sanford, NC. The project is sized at 90 MW. Virginia-based PointOne, with local developer Helix Ventures, proposed a technology park on Lower Moncure Road near the Sanford-Lee County Regional Jetport in northern Lee County. Phase One is a 56-acre, 300,000 sq ft, 90MW-IT-load building (part of a larger ~430-acre planned site) that data center operator CyrusOne is set to own and operate once complete. A permit application was submitted to the Sanford-Lee County Planning Department in June 2026 (reported $900M+ Phase One investment); the Lee County Board of Commissioners twice rejected resident requests to pause the project in August 2026. Construction is targeted for fall 2026, with completion in 2028.
