Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson AI Data Center Lease Sites (Dept. of the Air Force)
Anchorage, Anchorage Municipality, AK
U.S. Department of the Air Force (developer TBD) has announced Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson AI Data Center Lease Sites (Dept. of the Air Force), a data center project in Anchorage, AK. In April 2026 the Air Force solicited developers to lease about 4,700 acres across 12 parcels at three Alaska installations (JBER, Eielson AFB, Clear SFS) for privately built AI data centers with their own power; site visits were held April 28 and proposals were due June 29, 2026, with no award announced. Sen. Murkowski has said she cannot support the data centers while the bases' energy supply is insecure. Eielson is tracked separately in our list. (Source dated 2026-04-10.).
