Fairfax County Stonecroft Boulevard Data Center Land Sale (proposed)

Chantilly, Fairfax County, VA

Fairfax County Stonecroft Boulevard Data Center Land Sale (proposed) is a planned data center in Chantilly, VA. Fairfax County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing (Mar 17, 2026) on a proposed Purchase and Sale Agreement to sell ~42 acres of county-owned land at 3721 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly (currently a police training facility, near the Udvar-Hazy Center) to an undisclosed data center developer for $166.8M. Sale proceeds earmarked for new public safety facilities (driving track, firearms center, Criminal Justice Academy); estimated first-year tax revenue over $20M. PSA approval alone does not authorize data center development -- separate land-use approvals required, with a contingency period of up to 1 year (plus possible 180-day extensions). Potential construction start ~2028. Environmental groups raised concerns. No developer/operator publicly named as of reporting.
