Edwards AFB AI Data Center (USAF land solicitation)
Edwards, Kern County, CA
A new data center, Edwards AFB AI Data Center (USAF land solicitation), has been announced in Edwards, CA. The project is sized at 100 MW with an estimated investment of $500 million. The Air Force posted a solicitation on Oct. 21, 2025 offering more than 2,100 acres at Edwards AFB for a privately developed AI data center of at least 100 MW and $500M+ value, under Trump administration executive orders on AI infrastructure. No developer has been publicly selected; Cleanview lists a 100 MW 'Edwards AFB Data Center' as planned. Water availability for cooling in the desert is a flagged concern. (Source dated 2025-11-09.) [Reviewed 2026-10-09: verified] Air Force issued official solicitation Oct. 15–21, 2025 for competitive lease proposals; deadline Nov. 14, 2025; no developer selected; project remains at proposal stage.
