Davis-Monthan AFB Data Center
Tucson, Pima County, AZ
Davis-Monthan AFB Data Center is an announced data center project in Tucson, AZ, backed by U.S. Air Force (data center leasing solicitation; commercial operator not yet selected). The U.S. Air Force identified roughly 300 acres at Davis-Monthan AFB that could support a commercial AI data center, one of five Air Force bases nationwide offered for data-center lease proposals under a federal solicitation (proposals due Nov 14-15, 2025). Eligible projects must add more than 100MW of electricity demand and at least $500 million in capital investment; no operator/tenant has been selected yet and the project remains in the solicitation phase. Local opposition group No Desert Data Center Coalition has vowed to fight any Davis-Monthan facility. [Reviewed 2026-10-09: verified] U.S. Air Force issued solicitation on October 15, 2025, seeking lease proposals for AI data centers at Davis-Monthan AFB; proposals deadline was November 14, 2025; site selection expected January 2026.
