Rising Edge data center campus (Clean Cloud Energy, Mahomet), a data center project in Mahomet Township, IL associated with Clean Cloud Energy (Rising Edge, LLC), has stalled. Hyperscale data center campus proposed by Clean Cloud Energy (Austin, TX) through Rising Edge, LLC on ~340 acres of farmland in unincorporated Mahomet Township, within the village's extraterritorial jurisdiction. The village announced the talks on Sep 28, 2026 after ~10 months under NDA (first contact Dec 2025, NDAs Jan 5, 2026); a draft annexation and development agreement (Apr 17, revised by the developer Jul 2) caps the developer's contributions at $17.35M ($5M village, $2.35M community groups, $10M contingent on a school-district PILOT).
